Like everyone, we are struggling to wrap our minds around the senseless tragedy in Uvalde, incapable of thinking about anything else, and desperate to do something to help. We’ll be donating 15% of sales from tonight and tomorrow to a Go Fund Me page set up on behalf of the victims’ families and to @everytown, a non-profit fighting to end gun violence and build safer communities. Our hearts and minds are with the Uvalde community. This year, Justine’s will be closed on July 4th. We’re grateful to be spending the holiday visiting friends and family in France, the birthplace of the Statue of Liberty. While this image of America’s most iconic symbol of freedom was taken during its construction in Paris, between 1877 and 1885, we can’t help but place it in a contemporary context, with the scaffolding evocative of something profoundly broken and in desperate need of repair. The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade robs women of what should be the most fundamental of liberties – the right to choose what they do with their bodies. We look forward to coming home and using our platform to continue to fight the good fight. #wedissent
✨Introducing Justine’s winter bungalows – twelve private, outdoor dining spaces evoking the elegance of a French Chateau and the indulgence of an impromptu getaway. Reminiscent of the Chateau Marmont or les Jardins des Tuileries, these luxe enclaves are cloaked in velvet, illuminated by chandeliers, and individually heated. Like the winter garden in our main tent, the bungalows were designed to infuse decadence into social distancing. They can be reserved individually or in adjacence to safely accommodate parties hoping to dine together but separately. Simply draw the curtains and voila!✨❄️❄️❄️

It’s one of many that I often revisit, grateful for her ability to convey an array of emotions – from desire to bereavement – in a way that’s raw, poignant and relatable. In her memoir The Year of Magical Thinking she encapsulated the dizzying sense of loss that accompanies death with the repetition, in reference to her recently deceased husband, John Gregory Dunne, of three simple words: “then he wasn’t.” While I’m still grappling with the idea of a Joan Didion in the past tense, for me her words will always be very much in the present. RIP to a beautiful mind and a brilliant writer.

This New Year’s Eve – immerse yourself in Justine’s Infinite Universe and dance beneath the canopy of the night’s sky to the ethereal beats of the Mexican Institute of Sound. International DJ sensation Camilo Lara is coming to us all the way from Mexico City with his signature soundscapes, celebrating music from across time and around the globe. Lara is the brilliant mind behind “Distrito Federal,” one of NPR’s 26 favorite albums of the year. His compositions are sensorial, intoxicating, and kaleidoscopic. They are auditory explorations of the multiverse… Our brilliant designer Emily Hughes has created our own Infinite Universe in the Winter Tent, which shimmers in fabric and sparkles with light. There will be a Phantasmagoric photo booth to ensure that 2022 starts with the most beautiful dream.
